CARSEGOWAN
LOCATION
Carsegowan lies midway between the market town of Newton Stewart and The Book Town of Wigtown.
Newton Stewart is packed with facilities. It has a cinema, a Sainsburys, an Aldi, banks, shops, schools, restaurants, pubs, a golf course, solicitors, a health centre, dentists, a gin distillery, an agricultural market, garages, mountain biking, walking trails and all the services you would expect to serve a wide rural area. Beyond Newton Stewart there is the vast Galloway Forest Park. Southward, Wigtown continues to advance as a cultural centre. At the same time it is a gateway to all the scenery of the glorious Machars Peninsula.
DEVELOPMENT
We are forming two plots for self build on what was the Carsegowan Farm Steading. Both plots are around an acre in size and have wonderful panoramic views.
Plot 1 has full planning permission for a barn conversion and extension (23/0960/FUL). It has two more linked, out buildings that have previously had planning permission.
Plot 2 has a positive pre-application response from the Council. Given that development will not be based on existing buildings, there will be somewhat more flexibility in any new build design.
